Announcement: André Bacchus Appointed as Executive Director of the Law Practice Program

André Bacchus - Executive Director

We are pleased to announce the appointment of André Bacchus as the new Executive Director of the Law Practice Program (LPP) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

André brings over 20 years of extensive experience in the legal industry to this leadership position. His career includes practicing on Wall Street, serving as a Director of Professional Development on Bay Street, and holding strategic career development positions at The Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Osgoode Hall Law School, and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. This experience uniquely positions André to lead the LPP effectively within today's dynamic and competitive legal sector.

André is deeply familiar with the LPP having previously served as the program's Assistant Director. In that role, he established essential training programs for candidates and worked closely with the profession to identify and secure valuable work experience opportunities. His proven history of empowering legal professionals through coaching and stakeholder development ensures he will continue to drive meaningful success for both candidates and employers alike.

We also want to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation to Gina Alexandris. Over the past year, Gina has provided exceptional leadership to the program while serving as the Interim Executive Director. Her steadfast dedication and guidance have been invaluable to the LPP community from its inception and during this transitional period.

We are confident that André’s collaborative approach and commitment to excellence will drive the continued growth and impact of the LPP within the legal profession and the broader community.
